The Opening Xbox Game Pass Additions of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Is Still Fighting.
Across the gaming landscape, enthusiasts continue to ring the knell for the Xbox brand. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a lesser-known competitor. Xbox fan sites began covering about PlayStation as a new development. 2025 was complete chaos for Xbox and Microsoft. The two games that are immediately available at this moment, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's worth getting excited about.

On Jan. 13, Game Pass will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that refreshes conventional open-world tropes with an intergalactic heist adventure. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village featuring the towering Lady Dimitrescu, previously described as "a superb mixture of frights and fights."
Compelling Indie Titles
Yet, the less-hyped additions set to join the catalog are noteworthy here. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, an unjustly ignored roguelite offering thrilling gameplay, drops on Jan. 7th — and it's worth experiencing regardless of whether you played the first Lost in Random game.
This UK-developed survival title from last year could captivate you remarkably quickly.
Atomfall, the stealth survival game by Rebellion Developments, is another one to watch. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.
A Robust Selection of Games
All in all, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, and they are also not tentpole Microsoft studios games that justify the service by themselves. Yet, this selection are rock solid. The lineup provides a solid mix of past releases that passed you by and new-ish games that lacked the recognition they deserved the first time around — which makes them ideal prospects to experience a revival on Game Pass.
Be prepared to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
